The Three Seas Initiative Research Center
The Three Seas Initiative (3SI), also known as the Three Seas is the term describing a project of political and economic cooperation between thirteen European states.
The 3SI was launched in 2016 and links the following European Union member states: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia
The objectives of the Three Seas Initiative focus on the economic development of the region by cooperation in the transport, energy and digitalisation sectors.

The Three Seas Initiative was initiated in 2016 by Poland and Croatia, and then covered twelve countries in the region.
In the first chapter of the publication, Paweł Kowal describes the genesis of the Three Seas Initiative and then Agnieszka Orzelska-Stączek discusses the process of its establishment and functioning up to the summit in Bucharest, and also outlines the objectives of the project.

The project, which has resulted in this publication, was implemented in two stages: the first involved interviews with the ambassadors of the Three Seas Initiative’s states and the Chief of Cabinet to the President of Poland, and the second included the development of the monograph.
